Omaha’s Newest Attractions – Bellevue Bay Water Park and RiverFront Pickleball Courts
Omaha is buzzing with exciting developments that promise to enhance community life and recreational options for residents. Two standout projects this season include the groundbreaking of the Bellevue Bay Water Park and plans for new pickleball courts along the RiverFront.
Bellevue Bay Water Park – A Year-Round Water Wonderland
On March 20th, city officials in Bellevue celebrated the groundbreaking of the $60 million Bellevue Bay Water Park. This innovative project, located at the U.S. Highways 34 & 75 interchange, is designed as a 100,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor facility complete with a retractable roof. Set to open in 2027, it is projected to become the fourth-largest water park in the United States, offering year-round fun for families and visitors alike.
RiverFront Pickleball Courts – A New Home for a Rising Sport
Meanwhile, at Lewis and Clark Landing, plans for new pickleball courts are underway. Though still in the permitting phase with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, bid packages have been issued, and construction is expected to begin this spring. The courts, located just north of the Kiewit Luminarium, signal Omaha’s commitment to supporting both new sports and community wellness, tapping into the rapidly growing popularity of pickleball.
Both the Bellevue Bay Water Park and the RiverFront Pickleball Courts illustrate Omaha’s dynamic growth and its focus on creating vibrant, community-centered spaces. As these projects move forward, they will not only add to the city’s recreational offerings but also boost local pride and economic development.
